This little resort is a hidden gem that dates back to the late 17th century and is contained in historically significant structures with a Cape Dutch architectural style. Steenberg is the oldest and most renowned of all the individual wine farms in Constantia. In addition to this, Catherina Ras became the first woman to be awarded a farm in the Cape Colony when she received this land. An avenue, which begins at the entry, winds its way through prestigious vineyards and ends up in front of a rocky mountain backdrop (Steenberg interprets it as a "stone mountain").
